Richard Brock is a seasoned legal search consultant, attorney career coach and former practicing lawyer.  He has founded several businesses which operate in the legal industry including two attorney recruiting companies.  He has worked with dozens of law firms and corporate legal departments and hundreds of attorneys across the country.  His experience and expertise covers legal talent acquisition, strategic growth initiatives, lateral attorney placements and law firm mergers.  He is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and Washington & Lee University.  Brock’s companies have received numerous awards and recognition for success and growth including Inc. 500 and Inc. 5000 Awards for fastest growing companies in America.

Delene Stutts

Executive Director of Recruiting

Delene has been in the recruiting business for over 15 years and has been highly successful in recruiting for a wide range of industries.  For more than ten years, her focus has been on legal recruiting. She has successfully recruited both partner-level and associate-level attorneys for a variety of positions including large firms, smaller firms and in-house legal departments. Before concentrating her efforts on recruiting lawyers, her industry experience included insurance, accounting, banking and finance, HR, IT, and more.  Delene serves her clients by utilizing a combination of research skills, business contacts, and an extensive personal network to achieve the hiring needs of the client firms and companies.  Delene’s clients have ranged from small, privately held firms to Fortune 1000 businesses.

Doug Sutton

Managing Director of Talent Acquisition

Doug has 10+ years of experience in recruiting top-level sales professionals, marketing talent, and building executive management teams, including sales managers, business managers, human resource directors, and engineers.  At OnBoard, Doug applies his expertise in executive recruitment to the legal industry, working with the most prestigious law firms in the Southeast and a wide variety of in-house legal departments.  Doug works directly with hiring managers and candidates, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the recruitment process, and leading our critical role searches.

Ashley Umbach

Director of Legal Talent Acquisition

Ashley Watkins Umbach practiced law for 24 years before joining OnBoard Search. Her legal background provides her with a comprehensive understanding of the legal industry, as well as an extensive network of practicing attorneys across the nation. She graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she was a member of Law Review. She obtained her B.A. from the University of Virginia.

Keith Brown

Managing Director

Keith Brown is a Managing Director at OnBoard Search. His career has spanned investment banking, real estate development, private equity, and entrepreneurship. At OnBoard, Keith applies this wealth of expertise to business development and legal recruiting and is involved in all aspects of operations, working directly with firms and candidates. Keith earned a B.A. in Communications from the University of Alabama in 1999 and both a J.D. and M.B.A. from Samford University in 2004. He is currently the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Samford University’s Brock School of Business as well as an adjunct instructor and a member of the Entrepreneurship, Management and Marketing Advisory Board.

Mandy Wideman

Research & Marketing Coordinator

Mandy serves as the Research & Marketing Coordinator for the OnBoard Search Team.  She utilizes her 10+ years of experience in advertising and marketing to aide her colleagues in the candidate search process.  Mandy is a graduate of Auburn University’s School of Business.



Brad Hawley

Brad Hawley is a veteran of the recruiting and legal services industries whose experience has made him a highly effective legal talent broker.  He concentrates on client management, spending most of his time with medium to large law firms throughout the southeastern region of the U.S.  His activities focus on dissecting client recruitment needs, developing search criteria, and managing candidates through the interview process.
